Deputy Commissioner Bokaro Mr Mukesh Kumar, while addressing the residents, informed that 5 new cases of infection of coronavirus (Covid-19) have been reported in Bokaro district. All the five infected patients are migrants who have come from outside and are staying at the district administration’s quarantine. Of these, 4 are CISF jawans from Sector-11, Bokaro Steel City, who recently returned from Bhubaneswar to Bokaro, and 1 migrant labourer from Telo who had recently returned from Mumbai to Bokaro. All of them were kept by the district administration at the quarantine centres where they were examined.
During this time, all the people who were brought on the quarantine centres had their samples tested for corona. Out of all the tested samples, five people received coronavirus positive reports, after which they have been sent to Bokaro General Hospital for treatment and efforts are on to know their travel history. Arrangements are also being made by the district administration to sanitize the places where they visited and people with whom they came in contact are also being identified.
All coronavirus infected patients are aged between 25 and 30 and are healthy. The Deputy Commissioner told the residents that in recent times the number of migrant people coming to the district has been continuously increasing, so the district administration is keeping an eye on the migrant people. He appealed to all Bokaro residents to follow the rules of lockdown, comply with social distancing and protect themselves from Covid-19.
