Two incidents of theft in locked houses were reported in Chira Chas, under Chas police station. Items worth three lakhs were stolen from Mr Nagendra Tiwari’ house Flat No 24 in Basera Apartments in Chira Chas. Thieves broken the lock and opened the almirah and took away jewellery and zinc and copper vessels. Mr Tiwari informed that he lives with his family in his other house in Phusro. His son Ratan Tiwari had visited their home in Basera and gave the keys of the house to a carpenter. When the carpenter opened the house on Friday morning, he found all furniture and other items lying on the floor. The carpenter then informed Mr Tiwari and Chas police station. Chas SDPO Bhagwan Das, Chas Police Station in-charge Chunmun Singh reached the spot and took account of the theft. The window at the back of the house was found to be open. Mr Tiwari speculated that his son may have left the window open by mistake, which resulted in the theft. Police are also taking the help of forensic department to help find any clues about the thieves.
In another incident, Mr Laxmi Narayan’s house in Aradhya Garden, Chira Chas was burgled. The neighbours informed the police of the theft. Station In-Charge informed that the owner of the house is currently in Delhi for treatment. He had been informed of the theft on the phone. His daughter, who lives in Hazaribagh, has been informed and once someone from the family reaches, only then the value of the stolen items can be known. The police assured that the thieves would be caught soon.
Incidents of theft were reported form shops as well. Theft was reported from a gate-grill shop near the Gurudwara on NH-23. The shop owner Sant Kumar Singh lodged a report regarding the incident at the police station. He informed that a welding machine and other instruments worth ten thousand had been stolen from his shop. Police went to the shop to investigate and found that thieves had entered by cutting open the wall at the back of the shop.
Another incident of theft was reported from Government wine shop near NH-23 4 lane Bandhgora Crossing. An FIR was lodged regarding theft on Friday morning. The attendant at the shop informed that when he went to open the shop on Friday, he found the locks broken. Liquor worked 2.3 lakhs had been stolen from the shop. Police and product department were informed and officers came in to investigate. It is noteworthy that six months back, liquor worth 2 lakhs was stolen from the same shop.
